Designs by Jude Insider – September Edition
This summer has been a busy and exciting time in our subscription world! While we just wrapped up both the Ellowyne and Anne Subscriptions in July, our Grace Historical Subscription is going strong. Each month, Grace collectors continue to enjoy historically inspired fashions, and thanks to Tamara Casey of Designs by Jude, the sewing patterns remain fresh, imaginative, and inspiring for those who love to sew.
✨ Pattern of the Month – August ✨
For August, Tamara introduced Lady Mary, a design that captures timeless sophistication with a touch of drama. This ensemble includes:
A long-sleeve jacket with a wide collar, double-breasted front, V-point cutaway, and decorative buttons.
A fully lined, floor-length 7-panel skirt with an attached waistband and zipper back closure.
A coordinated hat to complete the look with elegance.
Sized exclusively for the 16.5” RTB101 body, Lady Mary is a perfect project for doll dressmakers who enjoy tailoring details and polished silhouettes.
Keeping It Fresh
One of the things we love most about Tamara’s contributions is how she keeps the subscription fresh and exciting month after month. Her patterns extend the storytelling of each box, while also inviting you to add your own creativity through fabric, trim, and personal flair. With Tamara at the helm of the Pattern of the Month, Grace’s journey through time remains an endlessly inspiring adventure for both collectors and sewers alike.
To celebrate this creativity, we’ve also put together a gallery of creations by our talented sewers. It’s such a joy to see how each person interprets Tamara’s patterns in their own way, turning them into one-of-a-kind treasures. This gallery is a reminder that while the patterns begin with Tamara’s vision, they truly come alive through the imagination and hands of our community.
New Patterns for Tiny Kitty Collier
In addition to her ongoing work with the Grace Historical Subscription, Tamara Casey has also been busy creating brand-new patterns for Kitty Collier collectors.
Her latest releases include designs for both the 10” Tiny Kitty Collier dolls and the 18” Kitty Collier dolls, offering fresh sewing opportunities for those who love these classic Tonner creations. Among the newest designs are:
In the Spotlight (10” Tiny Kitty Collier) – a glamorous evening gown with dramatic tulle detail, long gloves, and retro Hollywood charm.
Going Shopping (18” Kitty Collier) – a cheerful, mid-century day dress perfect for an afternoon outing, complete with a cinched waist and flared skirt.
In the Spotlight (18” Kitty Collier) – a full-length version of the elegant gown, reimagined for the larger Kitty Collier dolls, complete with microphone-ready stage presence.
These new additions highlight Tamara’s versatility as a designer and her dedication to keeping doll sewing both creative and accessible across multiple doll sizes.
Meet Tamara at the Ohio National Doll Show
We’re also thrilled to share that Tamara Casey will be joining the Virtual Doll Convention team this fall at the Ohio National Doll Show. Tamara will be in attendance at the Twilight Tales Gala Banquet Dinner with Robert Tonner and the VDC Crew on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, and you’ll also be able to meet her at the doll show the following day.
This is an incredible opportunity to connect in person with Tamara, explore her sewing patterns, and celebrate the artistry of doll collecting alongside fellow enthusiasts.
If you can make it, we encourage you to attend—it’s one of the premier doll events of the year! You can learn more by visiting: Ohio National Doll Show
